Update: Do NOT use a hastag, as it won’t help us to trend!
When I first read the article in EW about the 100th episode of Gossip Girl and came across the snippet about Nate and Serena not sharing any moments through the episode, I almost couldn’t believe what I was reading. The penultimate episode, number 100, that’s been hyped as having countless callbacks to the pilot doesn’t include the catalyst for almost everything that happened in the pilot? The episode that’s supposed to go back to GG’s roots doesn’t even mention the original OMG moment? How is this possible? How is a couple that has so much history, so many fans and so much potential simply excluded?! It makes absolutely no sense. And I think this is where we stop it.
Other fans think that Nate and Serena supporters have no voice, that we’re not loud enough. Although the media buzzes about them from time to time, we are rarely a trending topic on twitter, the writers rarely mention Nate and Serena in interviews and this couple that was once so strong and beautiful together suddenly seems so far in the past it’s futile. I say it’s not.
How about we come together on the night of the 100th episode and tweet our hearts out about Nate and Serena. Let the writers know that it’s completely ridiculous that they aren’t included in an episode that should practically be an ode to their sexcapade at the Shepard Wedding, since that’s the storyline that kicked off the entire series.
It doesn’t matter if you rant for tweets upon tweets or if it’s a simple #rememberserenate, however, I think it’s important that we let the writers know that we haven’t forgotten what these two shared and what they could share again, if only they’d wake up and get out of this incessant need to bring Dan and Serena back together for the 1000th time.
Nate and Serena have always been and should always be a part of this show, whether thats in a romantic capacity or something geared more towards friendship, it’s simply not fair that they were excluded from an episode that’s meant to callback to the beginning of the show, which, may I remind these writers, was full of Serenate. So, let’s show everyone how awful it is: on Monday, January 30th starting at 8PM, or even sooner if you’d like, tweet, tweet and tweet some more about Nate and Serena, using the phrase RememberSerenate. It could really do a lot to show these writers that we miss them just like CB fans do every week.
Pass the word on and let’s do this thang.
Thank you!

The lack of NS really astounds me at this point. They seem to be in the perfect place to try their relationship out again. Both have matured so much, and seem to seek the same thing in life. They want to be taken seriously, and now they are. They’ve become so much more then the Golden children of the UES always so prized for their beauty. I can only assume that the writers are determined to play out some ridiculous BDS triangle, and they need Serena on the hook for that. It’s a shame though because it’s totally stunting her. At this point there is absolutely no reason she should give one damn about Dan. DS has been ripped apart since the first season finale, but Blair has to be the final nail. Dan is more obsessed with and in love with Blair than he ever seems to have been with Serena. Her feelings for him make absolutely no sense in relation to previous seasons, her growth as a character, or their respective arcs in the long run. Plus, her feelings for him are so outrageously ridiculous and offensive to Serena as a character. He treats her like SHIT. ALL THE TIME. Even in this episode!!! I actually find the stark contrast between how he treats and views Blair to how he treats and views Serena astonishing. Nothing Blair does seems to phase him while EVERYTHING Serena does makes Dan upset and he continues to blame her for everything, just as he always has. Honestly, how can these writers actually believe that DS are a healthy, viable option at all?

I absolutely adore every single thing about this episode. It’s just… perfection. Every single moment. All the mentions of Nate and Serena’s past together made me sooo incredibly happy. Their hug? Epic personified! Just the look on Nate’s face when all his emotions came rushing back. And Nate finally lays it all out for her -what he’s always felt - and she is truly shocked. I think Serena honestly convinced herself that Nate was just attracted to her, and could never really love her. She didn’t even like herself when she was at her lowest. With Dan she twisted herself into this different person, and I think the biggest difference between Dan and Nate, for me, is that Nate loved her at her lowest and her best. They are absolutely meant to be, and this episode showed exactly why.
